Heidi showed up to the memorial vigil for the four homeless men who died of exposure in Santa Clara County over the past couple weeks. Clad in a thin pullover and a beanie, she came to pray and to warm up her hands on a cup of tea handed out by church volunteers. She brought her pets Dylan the rabbit (named after her nephew, she told me) and Whitey the dog in a stroller wrapped in her pullover and jacket. "They get to wear my coat right now. I don't want to see them shiver."
